Fresh Perspectives: Refreshing an Established Records Management Program
Records management programs are often perceived as de facto in most colleges and universities. However, many institutions have only recently launched programs, and entrenched RM programs are reevaluating their position with the proliferation of electronic records, email retention, and digital liabilities. Alex Toner, University Records Manger at the University of Pittsburgh, will discuss the ways in which he’s working to refresh Pitt’s program and review its effectiveness, including updating retention schedules, justifying the need for institutional support, collaborating on research data management, and raising awareness among users.
